CA San Francisco: January 8, 2011: Nothing to Say

Nothing to Say

Guerrero Gallery is pleased to announce “Nothing To Say”, a group exhibition featuring works by over thirty artists. The title of the show is a concept/word-play on the idea that an artist’s piece should be able to stand alone, speaking for itself. This exhibition provides both a visual and literal dialog between viewers and works, with each of the artists being individuals who naturally utilize text within their works.

Featured artist Caleb Neelon led a project earlier this year with kids at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts called Signs & Symbols, where signs inspired by a specific theme were created together. He’s currently working with kids from the Chelsea Club to hand-paint wooden signs with them about the kindest and meanest things they’ve said or have had said to them. Like with any kids project, the outcome is a gamble, and Neelon likes that.
