Australia, Melbourne: April 5-7, 2013: DOES

Just Another and Does are thrilled to present 'Endless Perspectives' - a new body of work aiming to capture graffiti’s transient nature. He displays his journey both as an artist and a person through forty canvasses centred around five cities close to his heart. A series of films by Stephan Polman accompanies the artworks, allowing you to join him on this pilgrimage around the world seeking creative enlightenment.

The five cities – Amsterdam, Basel, London, Paris and Melbourne – have acted as creative refuges for Does, who felt the need to escape his hometown to cultivate his craft. A former professional soccer player who has spent much of his life in the Dutch limelight, travelling has not only been an inspiration to Does, but also an escape. Each set of canvasses contains a distinct colour combination that was chosen based on the predominant colours Does came across during his travels in that city.

‘Endless Perspectives’ signifies the infinite interpretations and unlimited ways in which art and experiences can be perceived. During the journey that led to the work exhibited, Does's outlook evolved continuously. Events that at first glance appeared to be hurdles became unsought opportunities and vice versa – it’s all just a matter of perspective: the viewers’ included.

Using his infamously meticulous letters, Does portrays the multifaceted aspects of his artwork and the inspiration surrounding him. A love letter to both cities and styles, ‘Endless Perspectives’ leaves you looking a little closer at the world around you.

Opening on Friday April 5th from 6-10pm at 48 Easey St, Collingwood. Show runs till 7th April

Australia, Vic, Collingwood: March, 2013 - Slicer

A fierce new collection of work from SLICER, founding member of Melbourne's AWOL CREW. Exploring the surrealist's concept of automatism combined with a vandalistic approach in 'action paintings' on canvas, torn paper and burnt wood.

The result is a powerful subconscious landscape; a psychic flash of urban texture and decay expressed in ink, paint and paper. An insight into the future of graffiti.

Slicer’s work has featured in The Age Media Gallery and National Gallery of Victoria in Australia, as well as at the Confluence Gallery in Paris.

Organized Chaos will be opening on Friday the 15th of March at Backwoods Gallery and running until Sunday the 31st.

A catalogue for this exhibition is now available, email
info@backwoodsgallery.com to request a copy.

New Book: All Stations - Australian trains

All Stations Magazine - All Stations Issue 1 was the first ever full colour, trains only, graffiti magazine in Australia. This rare gem has been out of print for more than 10 years until now. We are proud to bring you an e-book version of the Aussie graffiti classic. It features work from many of Australia's realest and best train writers including Banos and Zombe OSF/TM.

Every cent we make from this book will be donated to help Fuzz One meet the costs of publishing his next book. We won't make a penny from this at all. Given that the philosophy of All Stations was that of love and respect for the NYC masters, this is a great opportunity to give something back.

By buying this book/ebook, not only do you get a rare piece of Australian graf history, you're also helping an NYC subway king get more history into the public eye. Please buy one and tell your friends about it.

NYC: July 26, 2012: Kingbrown magazine's USA launch

KINGBROWN  CURATED BY MELISSA MCCAIG-WELLES AND JOHN LEO
THURSDAY JULY 26, 2012 7-11PM

We are pleased to announce the official launch and exhibition of Kingbrown Magazine, Edition #8, co-curated and designed by Morning Breath.

The exhibition will be open to the public
July 26th, 2012 from 7-10pm

Klughaus Gallery
47 Monroe Street
NYC, NY

Australia's "Kingbrown" Magazine has collaborated with curators, John Leo and Melissa McCaig-Welles to bring you a dynamic collection of skateboard inspired artwork. The exhibition will showcase some of the world's most influential artists from members of the infamous Girl/Chocolate Art Dump, pioneers in NYC graffiti, talented illustrators, animators, art stars from Australia, sculptors, and that guy living in the NY green diamond.

Conceived in 2006 by co-creators Yok and Ian Mutch in Perth, Australia, Kingbrown's mission was to produce a limited edition work of art, which would reach a wider audience, allowing accessibility to the public and its entirety. Each "magazine" is handcrafted and designed by some of the world's leading innovators of photography, illustration and urban and skateboard art and design. Produced on museum quality paper, each page is a collectable item, individually sealed and packaged. Now in its 8th edition, Kingbrown has achieved worldwide success and is now launching for the first time in the US.

The term "Kingbrown" is Australian slang for a 40oz, and the magazine's slogan "wrapped in a brown bag, just like a good 40 should", is just as original as the artists it represents. This latest 8th edition, co-curated by the renowned collaborative, "Morning Breath", focuses it's topic on the visually rich artists who have influenced the world of skateboarding.

The impressive line-up includes Morning Breath, Andy Jenkins, Chris Cycle, Dave Kinsey, "Grotesk" aka Kimou Meyer, Stefan Marx, Kevin Lyons, Mike Giant, Raza Uno aka MAx Vogel, Greg Lamarche, Zach Malfa-Kowalski, Steve Gourlay, Jay Howell, and Ben Horton, all of whom have contributed to this limited 8th edition of Kingbrown Magazine.

Australia, Melbourne & Sydney: February-March, 2012: Mark Bode

For two generations Mark and his father Vaughn Bode have forged an artistic legacy that has had a profound effect on graffiti, street art and underground comics.

In the mid seventies, the iconoclastic Vaughn Bode's comic book characters, particularly Cheech Wizard resonated so closely with the revolutionary spirit of pioneering graffiti artist that these characters were adopted as the mascots of the movement, becoming the first used in graffiti.

In recent years Mark Bode, an accomplished graffiti artist, tattooist, illustrator and writer, has stretched the horizons of the Bode universe beyond imagination, creating several cult classic comics, perhaps the best known being Colbalt 60, which is currently slated by Zack Snyder for a live action film.

Bode is also something of a nexus for the world street art and graffiti art scene, the heir to the first graffiti characters, a genuinely positive visionary and a backbone of the community he has painted murals around the globe with an extended family consisting of the most respected graffiti and street artists.

For "Bode in Oz", In February Mark Bode will be taking a 2 week tour of Melbourne and Sydney, painting murals with Australian artists and exhibiting a collection of original work along with the performance of a Cartoon Concert in both cities.
