"Toe The Line" is an online art auction to raise funds for the PTA-funded programs at Public School 132 (P.S. 132) in Brooklyn, NY.

Toe the Line was conceived of by Brooklyn-based painter and photographer, Logan Hicks, whose son (Sailor) attends the school. The idea came Hicks while discussing yet another DOE budget cut with his girlfriend, Kristen Zarcadoolas, P.S. 132 PTA President and Sailor's mom.

"There is a lack of resources at every level within the public school system and I want to do all that I can to ensure that my son has a proper education," says Hicks. "There is a moral responsibility to do everything possible to help support public education." He decided to put out a call out to friends to see if they were willing to lend a hand by donating their artwork, prints, or books to be auctioned. "I used the resources I had to help in the best way I could." After calling on his creative friends, Hicks says, "I was thrilled by the response. Nearly everyone said they'd be happy to donate something."

100% of the profits raised will go directly to the P.S. 132 PTA which funds programs such as TADA! Youth Theater, Growing Chefs - Food Education from Field to Fork, and Bent on Learning Yoga.

"Who'z got game!", August 10th (8-11pm), at Sacred Gallery NYC. This group gallery exhibition, curated by KIDLEW, showcases some of the best names in the NYC street graffiti scene. Starting with artists from the late '60s and working up to modern day, Kidlew personally went after the best names in the game to bring you a true NYC graffiti Subway map show.

The gallery will be auctioning off a true 4'x5' NYC subway map that exhibiting artists will collaborate the night of the gallery opening. 100% of the proceeds from the won auction will go to The Coalition For The Homeless http://www.coalitionforthehomeless.org. The auction will be on display and available for bidding all month, and will close on the 31st.

Oakland based arts organization, The Estria Foundation (TEF), known for their nationwide graffiti competition (The Estria Battle), and global #WaterWrites Mural project, is honored to announce ‘Urban Legends’, Celebrating 45 Years of Public Art Around the World, opening Friday, April 27th at the LA Mart Design Center, Downtown Los Angeles. This “first of its kind” exhibition with works for sale and auction, will showcase and celebrate 45 years of global public art, from the mid-1960s; through today, including examples of how this movement is affecting and uplifting urban life through the vibrancy of color and large-scale sociopolitical works of art, inclusive of all global communities, highlighting artists from the U.S., Europe, Africa, Mexico, and more.

The legendary roster of more than 40 includes distinguished pioneers of the '60s & '70s revival of muralism in Los Angeles, Judy Baca (USA), Kent Twitchell (USA), and Master typographical graffiti writer Chaz Bojorquez (USA.) In addition are many prolific artists of the hip hop movement, as well as traditional muralists who began in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and are now today’s most sought after, collected and internationally known urban/street/graffiti artists including, among others, Vyal, Mear One, Kofie, RETNA (Los Angeles); Estria (Hawaii); Brett “Dizney” Cook (Berkeley), SANER (Mexico), and Vogue TDK (Oakland).

In addition to the above mentioned are, documentarians such as Martha Cooper (New York), and longtime Los Angeles heavies, photographer/film makers, Eriberto and Estevan Oriol; Yusef Davis (Atlanta); Jher (Colorado); TEWSR, Warren Heard (Costa Mesa, CA); Ckaweeks, Katch (Hawaii); ABCNT, Canlove, Codak, Cryptik, Erin Yoshi, Andrew Hem, Sand One, Woier, Shark Toof, Alexander DC Smith & Hans Haveron, Evan Mendleson, John Park & Christina Angelina, Max Neutra, Van Saro, FOODONE (Los Angeles); Level (Miami); Cern, Doves, Mare 139, Meres (New York); BAM (Oakland); Chor Boogie, Pablo Cristi (San Francisco); EKLA (France); Herakut & MACLAIM (Germany); KIDGHE, LIBRE (Mexico); Aly Kouroma (Senegal); and Freddy Sam (South Africa).

The show will offer works for sale and auction, commissioned by The Estria Foundation, The DoArT Foundation, and L.A. Art Machine’s Vox Humana program, as well as showcasing on loan collections representing historical site specific installations from The Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles (MCLA), Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) and Graffiti of War Project. A focal point of both the VIP and public openings will be, The MCLA’s inaugural slideshow screening of the Graffiti Visual Mural Tour, and an exclusive screening of SPARC FROM THE ARCHIVES: 36 Years of Community Mural Making. Select pieces from TEF’s Estria Battle, will be exhibited for the first time since the competition began five years ago, and will be included in the evening's live auction, and for sale.

The evening will conclude with the ‘Urban Legends’ Fine Art Live Auction, a first of its kind in Los Angeles, happening during the VIP opening. Included will be select works from past exhibitions, installations, and public art & music festivals, spanning decades, as individually curated by the contributing organizations - and auctioned under one roof the evening of Friday, April 27th.

"We’ve just started putting up a few of the pieces handed in so far for the Preview of the ROBBO auction @ Pure Evil Gallery

The preview of the auction opens Thursday evening at 6pm but some images of the work donated so far is up already because we want to get on it straight away… so far we have already raised abut £25,000 selling paintings and prints which is going towards Robbo and his family… he has a baby who is 1 year and 8 months old and other children and we’re trying to help the family out.

The guy is in a coma still, but he seems to be responding to some commands… anyone who has speculated about his injury and what actually happened to put him in hospital heres the scoop : He fell outside his house and hit his head really badly on some stone steps and he has been in hospital ever since.

I don't care about the graffiti / street art politics behind Banksy vs Robbo thats just a falling out between 2 painters. In the bigger picture of things its meaningless . This is more important than all that, we’re just trying to help out a mate. He’s no angel but he’s had a hard knock (literally) and he needs our help.

On Sunday March 7, 2010, Anonymous Gallery @ Collective Hardware, SCOPE Art Show, {he}Art For Haiti and Prographix New York City joined forces to present N'AP BOULE: A BENEFIT FOR THE PEOPLE OF HAITI. Hosted by Joseph Henrikson, Andrew Lockhart, Raquel Cepeda, Sacha Jenkins, Henry and Kathleen Chalfant, Lisa Shimamura, and Christie's auctioneer Xan Serafin, the event proved to be a memorable and successful evening, raising tens of thousands of dollars—as of this press release, we are still tallying and will announce the final sum at closing—in financial support for the people of Haiti. All of the proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Haitian mission after the show's closing on March 28.

The benefit featured a live auction where pieces by Jose Parla, Eric Haze, Shepard Fairey, Barry McGee, SWOON, COPE2 and others were sold at or above their retail prices. Artists Erik Foss, Koralie, Henry Chalfant, CRASH, Kenzo Minami, ROSTARR, Lee Quiñones, and many others sold equally as well during our silent auction. Throughout the evening, legendary Deejays D-Nice, Prince Paul, DJ Soul and Treats donated their time to spin an eclectic mix of dance, old-school hip-hop, techno and soul music.

Prographix New York City donated their services—with a kind assist from American Apparel—producing commemorative T-shirts featuring original artworks by John CRASH Matos, Greg Lamarche, Ricky Powell, COPE2 and Indie184, Doze Green, Aaron SHARP Goodstone, FUTURA 2000 and Jose Parla. The limited edition T-shirts are being sold for $30US at the gallery: all proceeds will go to DWB/MSF. The N'AP BOULE exhibition is sequenced in chronological order, including artwork from some of the earliest graffiti "writers" starting with Philadelphia's Cornbread and New York's TAKI 183 (thanks to writing legend Cope 2) to visionaries like Lee Quiñones, John CRASH Matos and FUTURA 2000, to photographers Henry Chalfant and Ricky Powell--all of whom are pioneers of the bustling downtown Manhattan underground scene of the 1980s. The exhibit then continues its voyage through the ages via talents like Barry McGee and Shepard Fairey, who similarly were first known for their art on the streets in the early '90s before they became principals in the contemporary art world.

The Venice Art Walls need your help. The program that issues free permits to artists to paint on the walls is in desperate need of funding. City of L.A. funding for this program has been cut due to the severe city budget crises. Come help to preserve this important cultural and historic landmark and the spirit of free expression in Venice. All of the funds raised goes to pay the on-site supervisors that work in the area.

An amazing group of talented artists from Los Angeles are donating original paintings, prints, photography and sculpture to this auction to raise funds for this program. Although much of the work is donated by prominent L.A. graffiti artists, or artists doing street influenced art, many of the pieces are not done in a graffiti style. Several artists work in a more traditional style working with brush. There are also several photographers print makers and sculptors. Opening bids start very low.
