Zombies are everywhere – they threaten the existence of mankind in movies, novels, music and games and reflect the growing fears of the people for diseases, epidemics, nuclear war and death. The interest in the undead heroes of the pop culture is growing since the first popular zombie films in the 60s. These creatures also fascinated WON ABC from Munich at very early stage and inspired him to his own unique zombie characters. Thanks to him, zombies were also introduced in urban art. His debut Colour Kamikaze from 1991 impressed with its affinity for undead beings and with its filigree and impressive attention for detail, which even H.R. Giger paid tribute to. Zombielove is the long-awaited follow-up to that first book by WON.

[Won's first book was the most work I've ever seen in one art book. Won's art is so detailed it rewards the careful viewer every time you look at one of his pieces. Each illustration, every canvas and train is an amazing masterpiece. It's exciting that he's got another one out! Don't miss it. - Susan]

NYC: Feb 4 - Aug 24, 2014: City as Canvas

City As Canvas

Martin Wong, an East Village artist and collector of graffiti art, amassed a treasure trove of hundreds of works on paper and canvas—in aerosol, ink, and other mediums.

“City as Canvas” focuses on the 1970s and ’80s, featuring the work of Mr. Goodstone (Sharp), Lee Quiñones (LEE), Christopher Ellis (Daze), Andrew Witten (Zephyr), Donald White (Dondi), Sandra Fabara (Lady Pink), Rammellzee, and Keith Haring. They are among the pioneers who laid the foundation for the New York graffiti art movement.

The artists are seminal figures in an artistic movement that spawned a worldwide phenomenon, altering music, fashion, and popular visual culture. The exhibition City as Canvas: Graffiti Art from the Martin Wong Collection begins with photographs of graffiti writing long erased from subways and buildings.

The beautifully photographed artworks are accompanied by illuminating interviews, consisting of the artists’ thoughts on New York, the current state of street art, the future of this dynamic medium, and their own work and processes. CA, Chula Vista: Jan. 30 - Feb. 25, 2014: Mr Maxx Moses

Good Morning America

Good Morning America is a collection of paintings by Mr. Maxx Moses designed to shine light on the red white and Blues of the “American Dream”. This collection of paintings will be a departure from his dreamy palatable abstract expressions. they will disturb your emotions and evoke the taboo. This historical interpretation “Good Morning America” revisits slavery, religion, political ideology and of course sex.

The goal of this exhibition is to create an installation of large- scale paintings along with conceptual products and music, all infused with an eerie twist of satire inciting us to reflect upon the symbolism, and spiritual dogma we have been conditioned to live with and ingest as the truth.
