"As our interactions and communications become progressively more mediated and facilitated by technology, our connections to one another seem increasingly fragile. As we become increasingly connected through personal technology and social networks are we becoming alienated from each other and ourselves?"
Lyken is compiling experiences of online life to use in the exhibition. Get involved and post anonymously http://www2.spillit.me/loneliness_machines
Lyken is a motivated artist and musician. His work has developed dramatically over the last few years. 2011 saw him become a Collective member at Recoat, the release of his "Bit Rot" album on Gamma Proforma Records, and a solo print show at XOYO, London. He also curated the hugely popular Rudimentary Perfection exhibition at Recoat, participated in 9 group shows across the UK, including showing at the Royal Festival Hall, London, participated in the Sublime Project with IOTA, and was selected to represent Scotland by Moniker Projects for the Wagamama Art and Eat Project.
He will also create a mural in the space and compose a piece of music that will be available for free download from the Gamma Proforma record label from the opening night onwards www.gammaproforma.com/lonelinessmachines
